The story behind Bloom-in-box

Who are we?

Bloom-in-Box is a family run business with over 56 years experience in the plastic injection moulding industry. It all began with Allan Reardon in 1961, and then his son David Reardon joined in 1988. From here it led to the creation of Bloom-in-Box which was formed in the year 2000 to design, manufacture and sell unique products holding the ethos of eco-friendly at the heart of everything we do.

We now have the third generation joining the team with Hannah and Tom. Tom has a degree in ‘Mechatronics and Robotic Systems BEng (Hons)’ completed at The University of Liverpool, and Hannah has just completed her degree at Edge Hill University of ‘BSc (Hons) in Web Design and Development.’

Alan Reardon in the 50s we think working away in the work shop. Although look at those overalls not sure if they had been washed recently. It all began with Alan or Grandpa to Hannah and Tom, we have this photo in the office to remind us where it all started.

I now work full time here at Bloom-in-Box with my role being web sales and marketing. Although you will find me setting the machines, Robots and doing Mould changes.

Tom

Hi, I am Tom. I have been working full-time here at Bloom-in-Box for the past two years after completing my degree in Robotics and Mechatronics BENG. My role here at Bloom-in-Box is Production coordinator and Robotics Engineer.

David

Hi, I am David. I began working with my father Alan Reardon in the late 80s and we formed Bloom-in-Box in the year 2000. Granted it has not always been plain sailing, but really enjoying growing the business with my two children. Here at Bloom-in-Box I do all jobs from setting the machines to cleaning the dishes, but my main role is making the moulds for our products. I learned this skill originally from Alan, and have grown my skills to where I am today.
